Roger J. Medel, M.D., is the Founder of MEDNAX, Inc. (previously Pediatrix Medical Group), the Nation’s largest group of Neonatologists. Dr. Medel grew the company from one small group of Neonatologists managing care in one local hospital to a group of over 1200 Neonatologists and over 1000 Advanced Practice Nurses, which now manages Neonatology Departments (NICUs) in approximately 400 hospitals. Additionally, the Company expanded into the largest group of Pediatric Cardiologists, Pediatric Intensivists and Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialists. The Company currently cares for approximately 25% of the sick and premature babies born annually in the United Sates.

Dr. Medel is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute (Harvard Medical School) in Boston, MA, Schweiger Dermatology Group in New York, NY, and OPKO Health in Miami, Fl. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Miami from January 2004 to February 2012. Dr. Medel participates as a member of several medical and professional organizations and served on the Board of MBF Healthcare Acquisition Corp. from June 2006 to April 2009.

Nikos is an Executive, Advisor and Investor with over 30 years of experience across the technology, healthcare and retail sectors. His executive roles have spanned across operations, strategy, restructuring, M&A, legal, regulatory and investment experience. In terms of M&A transactions, he has negotiated and closed over 180 acquisitions, 110 of which were in healthcare. Most recently Nikos was the Chief Growth Officer at Panoramic Health, the largest physician-run kidney care platform with over 800 clinicians and 900 employees.  The Panoramic enabled a roll out of a clinical site management and clinical data platform leveraging 1M chronic kidney care patient lives.  At the time Nikos joined Panoramic there were 227 nephrologists, and within 18 months Nikos and his team were able to grow that network to 800 nephrologists across 18 states.

Prior to Panoramic, Nikos was the Executive Vice President of Strategy, Growth, Innovation and IT at Mednax (NYSE: MD).  He oversaw growth, strategy, IT, innovation, practice integration and payor contracting across women’s and children’s health, anesthesia and radiology.  Nikos saw the growth and evolution of the largest clinical data warehouse for women’s and children’s health and acquired and help grow the largest virtual health business (radiology with 500+ radiologists). The radiology business was later sold for close to $1BB.Prior to Mednax, Nikos worked as an executive at several large publicly traded companies, including Avaya (NYSE: AVYA), Office Depot (NYSE: ODP), and Tyco. He was also a Summit Partners Executive in Residence (Boston, MA), where he focused on healthcare strategy/thesis development and sourcing and diligence on platform acquisitions.  Summit is a $44B AUM growth equity fund focused on technology and healthcare investments.

Since 2020, Nikos has been a board advisor for Nuvo Group Ltd. (remote maternal & fetal monitoring, Call Center Studio, Surgery Device Management, Home Dialysis).

Education:  Juris Doctorate (1994, Chicago Kent Law School) and BS Electrical Engineering (1989, University of New Hampshire).

Nikos is fluent in Italian, Spanish, and Greek, semi-fluent in French.

Nick Carlucci brings 15+ years of healthcare leadership and experience to Istios Health. He has focused his career by epitomizing a growth mindset, driving success through strategic vision and deep connections in the healthcare industry. Nick was most recently the Chief Growth Officer for Panoramic Health where he spent 4 years helping to build the largest kidney care platform in the U.S. with nearly 800 integrated providers. While at Panoramic Nick also expanded the company’s portfolio of ancillary services by creating and launching two key divisions focused on Clinical Research and Innovation (Panoramic Science) and Ambulatory Surgery Centers (Global Vascular). Committed to supporting physician partners and enhancing patient care, Nick continues to lead initiatives that drive growth and innovation in healthcare delivery. Prior to joining Panoramic, Nick spent more than 11 years leading corporate development and financial operations for American Renal Associates, one of the largest dialysis service providers in the United States. Nick earned his MBA from Babson College and his bachelors degree from Fairfield University. Nick currently resides in Boston, MA.

Dr. Murthy is a Board Certified Infectious Diseases Specialist. He founded Istios Health (Formerly Nod Innovations) to leverage technology to bring significant improvements to Infectious Disease treatment and achieve quality care at an affordable cost. He has served in multiple leadership roles as Senior Medical Partner, Medical Executive Committee member, Chairperson of Infection Control, and Antimicrobial Stewardship Committees over the last decade. He was nominated by his peers for Top Doctors in the April 2015 Phoenix Magazine. Dr. Murthy completed his Internal Medicine Residency training at USD Sanford School of Medicine and Infectious Diseases Fellowship training at Creighton University Medical Center. He has a passion for traveling, hiking, running, and is a long term fan of the Arizona Cardinals football team.

Andrew Butler joined Istios Health with a focus on expanding hospital-based services and driving strategic growth initiatives. He brings more than a decade of healthcare experience, with a strong background in provider network development and partnership strategy. Prior to joining Istios, Andrew held roles with Elevate Dental Partners, Panoramic Health, and Southeast ENT & Allergy Partners, where he played a key role in scaling provider networks through strategic partnerships and operational expansion. His career also includes experience in private equity and investment banking, with a focus on healthcare services and care delivery models across diverse patient populations. Andrew resides in Marietta, Georgia with his wife and three children.

Trent serves as Vice President of Business Development at Istios Health, where he leads growth initiatives across strategic partnerships, physician affiliations, and organic network expansion within specialty care. He brings experience from private-equity-backed and Fortune 500 organizations, as well as advisory roles, supporting strategic planning, market expansion, partnership evaluation, and transaction-related initiatives. With a strong foundation in healthcare strategy and operations, Trent works closely with physicians, health systems, and life-science partners to drive disciplined, sustainable growth in complex healthcare environments.

Katie DiTomaso is a clinical research operations leader with over 13 years of experience in site operations and startup. She has helped build and scale Site Management Organizations (SMOs), with expertise in study startup, regulatory oversight, and operational strategy. Known for creating efficient, compliant research infrastructures, Katie partners closely with sponsors and CROs to support sustainable growth and high-quality study execution.

Michael Gleason is a healthcare finance executive with more than 20 years of experience in corporate finance, growth, and strategic development. Previously, he held senior finance and growth leadership roles at Eye Health America, Panoramic Health, and American Renal Associates. In addition, he worked in the Aerospace & Defense industry at both public and private companies. Michael earned an MBA in Finance from Northeastern University and a bachelor’s degree from Saint Michael’s College.

Rich Weissmark is the Chief Strategy Officer of MEDI-Weightloss, where he oversees organic growth, M&A strategy, product management, innovation, and eCommerce. He joined the company in 2024, bringing extensive experience in healthcare strategy, operations, and business transformation.

Prior to MEDI, Rich served as Senior Vice President of Strategic Operations at Gastro Health, where he played a key role in the company’s expansion from a single-state platform with 120 physicians to a seven-state organization with over 350 physicians and more than $650 million in revenue. His notable achievements at Gastro Health include:

Recapitalization Leadership: As part of the four-person deal team, he facilitated the 2021 recapitalization effort that transitioned ownership from Audax Private Equity to OMERS Private Equity.

Innovation in Clinical Analytics: Spearheaded the development and launch of a real-world evidence (RWE) business line, delivering advanced clinical analytics.

Operational Efficiency Through Automation: Led the introduction and deployment of a Robotic Process Automation (RPA) program, significantly enhancing revenue cycle management efficiency and achieving an estimated 500% ROI through labor cost avoidance.

Before Gastro Health, Rich held multiple leadership positions at MEDNAX (now Pediatrix Medical Group, NYSE: MD), spanning operations, technology, and business transformation. During his tenure, the company grew from $600 million in revenue to over $3.4 billion, with its physician network expanding from 900 to more than 4,000.

Rich also has experience in academic medicine and professional services. At the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, he served as Operations Director for the Telehealth program, overseeing the implementation and support of clinical telemedicine initiatives. Earlier in his career, at HSA International, he led digital product development, eCommerce initiatives, and technology operations.

Rich holds a Bachelor of Science from Florida International University and a Master of Science in Health Services Administration from Barry University.

Shannon brings over 30 years of experience driving value creation in tech-enabled healthcare services companies. He currently serves as the CEO of Array Behavioral Care, the nation’s leading virtual psychiatry and therapy practice. Before joining Array, Shannon led the national expansion of DispatchHealth as Chief Operating Officer (COO), and was President and COO of vRad, the nation’s largest radiology practice and a global telemedicine company. Shannon has a proven track record in business strategy, operations, and healthcare technology. He views tech enabled care as a key strategy and differentiator, driving innovation and efficiency in telehealth services.

Over 30 years of drug and device development experience.  Currently Dawn is consulting and supporting clinical research organizations and investors with operational and commercial insights. Prior to that she served as the Chief Growth Officer at WCG Clinical, responsible for the company’s enterprise growth and commercialization strategy. Prior to WCG, was Elligo Health Research’s COO where she furthered company’s growth, efficiency and mission of optimizing the intersection of healthcare and research. Dawn was also the Chief Development Officer at Clinipace (now Caidya) where she developed the strategy and grew the organization to be a trusted partner for sponsors. Prior roles included President, Development Innovations at Sarah Cannon and SVP and General Manager Hematology/Oncology at inVentiv Health (now Syneos).

Dr. James Backstrom serves as Physician Lead, Virtual Care, bringing extensive experience across radiology, internal medicine, hospital operations, and physician leadership. He previously served as Chief Medical Officer of Foundation Radiology Group, where he led more than 80 board-certified radiologists and helped develop a comprehensive radiology model supporting hospital service lines across multiple specialties.

Dr. Backstrom earned his medical degree with honors from the University of Pittsburgh and completed training in internal medicine, diagnostic radiology, adult neuroradiology, pediatric radiology, and pediatric neuroradiology at institutions including Bethesda Naval Hospital, Duke University, the Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, and the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.
